If you have trouble using Spotify’s search feature on your Windows, Mac (macOS), iPhone (iOS), or Android device, there’s a good chance your app is experiencing technical issues. Your internet connection being faulty can also cause the search feature to stop working. We’ll show you how to fix those and a few other items to resolve your search problem.

Other reasons your Spotify search function isn’t working are that the platform’s servers are down, Spotify doesn’t have access to your phone’s camera, your app’s cached files are corrupted, your app is old, and more.

1. Check Your Internet Connection

When you have problems using an internet-enabled app like Spotify, check and ensure your internet connection is working. Your connection may be inactive, causing Spotify’s search feature not to work.

You can check if your connection is working by opening a web browser and launching a site. If your site doesn’t load, your connection is faulty. In this case, try to resolve your internet connection problems by restarting your device, rebooting your router, fixing your network adapter problems, or contacting your internet service provider (ISP).

2. Check if Spotify Is Down

One reason Spotify’s search feature isn’t working is that the platform’s servers are down. In this case, you can’t use various app features as the servers providing those features are unavailable.

You can check if Spotify is down using the Downdetector site or the Spotify Status account on X (formerly Twitter). If these sites say Spotify is down, wait until the company fixes the issue.

3. Turn Off Spotify’s Offline Mode

Spotify offers an offline mode that allows you to listen to your downloaded music when you aren’t connected to the internet. If you’ve enabled this mode, that may be why you can’t use the search function.

You can resolve your issue by turning off your app’s offline mode.

On Android and iPhone

  1. Launch Spotify on your phone.
  2. Select your profile icon in the app’s top-left corner and choose Settings and privacy.
  3. Turn off the Offline mode option.

On Windows and Mac

  1. Launch Spotify on your computer.
  2. Select File > Offline Mode (Windows) or Spotify > Offline Mode (Mac) from the menu bar to disable the mode.

4. Give Spotify Access to Your Phone’s Camera

If you’re trying to scan a code using Spotify’s search feature, ensure you’ve given the app access to your phone’s camera. This is because the app can’t scan codes without camera access.

On Android

  1. Tap and hold on Spotify in your app drawer or home screen and select App info.
  2. Select Permissions on the following screen.
  3. Tap Camera.
  4. Enable the Allow only while using the app option.

On iPhone

  1. Launch Settings on your phone.
  2. Scroll down and tap Spotify.
  3. Turn on the Camera option.

5. Clear Spotify’s App Cache

Spotify caches various content to improve your app experience. If this cache becomes corrupted, you experience various issues in the app. This may be the case with your Spotify app.

Luckily, you can fix your app’s bad cache by deleting the cache. This doesn’t delete your account data in the app.

On Android and iPhone

  1. Open Spotify on your phone.
  2. Select your profile icon in the top-left corner and choose Settings and privacy.
  3. Scroll down the open page and select Clear cache.
  1. Choose Clear cache in the prompt.
  2. Quit and re-open your Spotify app.

On Windows and Mac

  1. Launch Spotify on your computer.
  2. Select your profile icon in the top-right corner and choose Settings.
  3. Select Clear cache next to Cache.
  1. Close and relaunch your Spotify app.

6. Log Out and Back Into Your Spotify Account

If your search issue persists, your app may have a login session problem. In this case, you can sign out and back into your account in the app to resolve your issue. Note that you’ll need your Spotify login credentials to log back in, so keep those details handy.

On Android and iPhone

  1. Open Spotify on your phone.
  2. Select your profile icon in the top-left corner and choose Settings and privacy.
  3. Scroll the open page to the bottom and tap Log out.
  1. Sign back into your account in the app.

On Windows and Mac

  1. Launch Spotify on your computer.
  2. Select your profile icon in the top-right corner and choose Log out.
  1. Log back into your account in the app.

7. Update Spotify to Fix a Spotify Search Not Working Issue

If you have an old Spotify version, that may be why you can’t utilize the search feature. Old software versions often have many issues, and you can patch those problems by updating your app to the latest version.

It’s quick and easy to update Spotify on your mobile and desktop devices.

On Android

  1. Launch Google Play Store on your phone.
  2. Find Spotify.
  3. Tap Update to update the app.

On iPhone

  1. Launch App Store on your phone.
  2. Select the Updates tab in the bottom bar.
  3. Tap Update next to Spotify on the list.

On Windows and Mac

  1. Launch Spotify on your computer.
  2. Select File > Help > About Spotify (Windows) or Spotify > About Spotify (Mac) from the menu bar.
  3. Select Click here to download to download the latest Spotify version.

8. Remove and Reinstall Spotify on Your Device

If your issue still isn’t resolved, Spotify’s core files may be corrupted. In such a case, your only option to fix the problem is to uninstall and reinstall the app. Doing so deletes all the existing app files, some of which are faulty.

Note that you don’t lose your created playlists and other account data when you reinstall Spotify.

On Android

  1. Tap and hold on Spotify in your app drawer and select Uninstall.
  1. Choose Uninstall in the prompt.
  2. Open Google Play Store, find Spotify, and select Install.

On iPhone

  1. Find the Spotify app on your phone’s home screen.
  2. Tap and hold on the app and select Remove App > Delete App.
  3. Launch App Store, find Spotify, and tap the download icon.

On Windows

  1. On Windows 11, head into Settings > Apps > Installed apps, select the three dots next to Spotify, choose Uninstall, and select Uninstall.
  1. On Windows 10, navigate to Settings > Apps, select Spotify, choose Uninstall, and select Uninstall.
  1. Head to the Spotify website and download and install the latest app version.

On Mac

  1. Open a Finder window and select Applications in the left sidebar.
  2. Right-click Spotify and choose Move to Trash.
  3. Launch the Spotify website, download the app, and install the app on your Mac.

9. Use the Spotify Web Player

If nothing fixes your issue and you can’t find your favorite music, use Spotify’s web player that allows you to access all your favorite music from your device’s web browser. This web-based Spotify works pretty much the same way as your desktop Spotify app, allowing you to sign in to your account, access your playlists, find music tracks, and listen to your favorite songs.

You can launch a web browser on your device and open the Spotify Web Player site to access the tool.

Restore Spotify’s Broken Search Functionality

Spotify’s search function stops working for various reasons. If you’ve run into this problem and can’t find a way to fix it, use the methods outlined above. These methods resolve issues with the items that can potentially cause your problem, allowing you to restore your favorite music player’s find function. Good luck!

Have you encountered a “Connection problem or invalid MMI code” error while dialing a code on your Samsung Galaxy or another Android phone? Chances are your network connection has issues.

You can’t dial a code on your phone because your phone has a minor glitch, your device’s secondary SIM is causing the problem, a malicious app on your phone, your phone’s network settings are incorrect, and more. Luckily, you have a few ways to fix that problem and use your codes without issues. We’ll show you what those fixes are.

#image_title

1. Add a Comma at the End of Your Code

One quick way to fix your issue is to suffix the code you want to dial with a comma. This comma tells your phone to ignore errors and continue executing your code. You can use this tip with any code you want to dial on your phone.

For example, if you want to dial *123#, you’d type *123#, (note the comma at the end). This dials your code, ignoring any errors that may appear.

2. Enable and Disable Your Phone’s Airplane Mode

Another way to fix your code issue is to turn on and back off your phone’s airplane mode. Enabling the mode turns off all network connections on your phone, and disabling the mode restores those connections. This helps fix connectivity issues on your phone.

  1. Pull down twice from the top of your phone’s screen.
  2. Select Airplane mode in the open menu to turn on your phone’s flight mode.
  1. Wait for 10 seconds.
  2. Turn the mode off by tapping Airplane mode in the same menu.
  3. Dial your code.

3. Restart Your Android Phone

If toggling on and back off airplane mode didn’t fix your issue, give your Android device a reboot and see if that resolves your problem. Doing so fixes many minor glitches with your device, possibly resolving your code dial error.

  1. Press and hold down the Power button on your phone.
  2. Select Restart in the menu to turn off and back on your phone.
  1. Dial your code when your phone turns on.

4. Turn Off the Secondary SIM on Your Dual SIM Phone

If your Android phone offers multiple SIM slots, disable the secondary SIM and see if that resolves your issue. This is because your secondary SIM may interfere with your primary SIM, causing your MMI code problem.

  1. Go to Settings on your Android phone.
  2. Select Mobile network in Settings.
  3. Choose your secondary SIM on the open page.
  4. Turn off the Enable option.
  1. Quit Settings and dial your code.

5. Manually Select Your Service Provider on Your Mobile Phone

Sometimes, your phone has trouble connecting to the appropriate network provider, preventing you from dialing your codes. In this case, manually set the correct carrier on your phone to resolve your issue.

  1. Access Settings on your phone.
  2. Select Mobile network in Settings.
  3. Choose your SIM card on the list.
  4. Select Carrier on the following screen.
  5. Turn off the Auto select option.
  1. Select your carrier from the network operators list.
  2. Dial your code.

6. Use Safe Mode on Your Android Phone

Like Microsoft’s Windows operating system, Android offers a safe mode to isolate your phone’s third-party tools. This lets you turn on your phone where your third-party apps aren’t loaded, allowing you to verify if those items are causing your problem.

You can use this mode when you have trouble dialing codes on your device.

  1. Press and hold down the Power button on your phone.
  2. Tap and hold on Power off in the open menu.
  3. Select OK in the prompt to boot your phone in safe mode.
  1. Dial your code when your phone is in safe mode.

If your code dials successfully in safe mode, one or more of your installed apps are the culprit. In this case, remove those apps from your phone to resolve your issue.

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Select Apps > App management in Settings.
  3. Find and tap the suspicious app on the list.
  4. Select Uninstall to remove the app.
  1. Choose OK in the prompt.

7. Reset Network Settings on Your Phone

Your Android phone allows you to customize various network settings. If you or someone else has incorrectly configured an option, that may be why you can’t dial codes on your phone.

In this case, you can reset your phone’s network settings to resolve your issue. Doing so erases your custom network configuration and lets you set up those settings from scratch.

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Select System settings > Back up and reset > Reset phone in Settings.
  3. Choose Reset network settings.
  1. Dial your code when you’ve reset the settings.

8. Replace Your Physically Damaged SIM Card

If nothing else works, your last resort is to replace your current SIM card with a new one. This is because your current SIM card may be physically damaged, preventing you from dialing codes on your phone. The above methods not working indicates your SIM card is the culprit.

You can contact your cellular provider and request a new SIM card. Your new card should work fine and let you dial your codes without errors.

Troubleshooting an Invalid MMI Code Error on Android

Android’s “Connection problem or invalid MMI code” error prevents you from dialing your network-specific codes and getting relevant information. If the issue persists even after multiple attempts to run your code, use the fixes outlined above and dial your codes without issues.

Is your Windows PC cursor disappearing on Google Docs documents? If so, your web browser may be faulty, your mouse cursor settings aren’t configured, or something else may be wrong on your system. Regardless, you can fix the underlying item to resolve your problem, and we’ll show you how to do just that on your Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC.

Close and Relaunch Your Web Browser

The first fix to apply when your cursor disappears on Google Docs is to quit and re-open your web browser. This helps resolve minor glitches with your browser, some of which may be causing your cursor problem.

Make sure you’ve saved your unsaved work before quitting your browser.

You can restart your Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or another browser by selecting X in the browser’s top-right corner. Then, open your PC’s Start menu, find your browser, and select it in the search results. If a browser refuses to quit, use the Task Manager to force-close your browser.

Prevent Windows From Hiding Your Cursor When You’re Typing

Windows offers an option that allows you to hide your cursor when you’re typing something on your computer. You or someone else may have enabled this option, causing the cursor to disappear while typing on Google Docs.

In this case, turn off that option, and your issue should be resolved.

  1. Open the Start menu, find Control Panel, and select the item with that name.
  2. Choose Hardware and Sound in Control Panel.
  3. Select Mouse in the Devices and Printers section.
  4. Open the Pointer Options tab.
  5. Disable the Hide pointer while typing option.
  1. Select Apply followed by OK at the bottom.

Turn Off Hardware Acceleration in Your Web Browser

The hardware acceleration feature enhances your web browser’s performance, but sometimes, this feature causes issues. This option being enabled may be the reason your cursor disappears on Google Docs.

In this case, turn off the feature and see if that resolves your cursor issue.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome, select the three dots in the top-right corner, and choose Settings to access Chrome settings.
  2. Select System in the left sidebar.
  3. Turn off Use hardware acceleration when available on the right.
  1. Close and relaunch your web browser.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Launch Firefox, select the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner, and choose Settings.
  2. Select General in the left sidebar and scroll down to the Performance section on the right.
  3. Turn off the Use recommended performance settings option.
  4. Disable the Use hardware acceleration when available option.
  1. Quit and re-open your browser.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge, select the three dots in the top-right corner, and choose Settings.
  2. Select System and performance in the left sidebar.
  3. Turn off Use hardware acceleration when available on the right.
  1. Close and re-open your browser.

Update Your Web Browser

If your web browser version is outdated, that may be why you have issues with the sites in your browser. Outdated browsers often have many bugs, which you can fix by updating your browser to the latest version.

Google Chrome

  1. Select the three dots in Chrome’s top-right corner and choose Help > About Google Chrome.
  1. Wait for Chrome to find and install the latest updates.
  2. Restart Chrome.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Select the three horizontal lines in Firefox’s top-right corner and choose Help > About Firefox.
  1. Allow the browser to check for and install the available updates.
  2. Restart your browser.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Choose the three dots in Edge’s top-right corner and select Help and feedback > About Microsoft Edge.
  1. Wait for Edge to find and install the latest updates.
  2. Close and re-open your browser.

Change Your Cursor’s Color on Windows

If your cursor remains invisible on Google Docs, change the cursor’s color so you can easily spot it on your screen. Note that this is a universal change, meaning you’ll see your cursor’s new color everywhere on your system and not just on Google Docs.

On Windows 11

  1. Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.
  2. Select Accessibility in the left sidebar.
  3. Choose Mouse pointer and touch on the right.
  4. Select Black, Inverted, or Custom. If you select Custom, choose your preferred cursor color.

On Windows 10

  1. Launch Settings using Windows + I.
  2. Select Ease of Access in Settings.
  3. Choose Mouse pointer in the left sidebar.
  4. Select Black, Inverted, or Custom on the right pane. If you choose Custom, select the custom color for your cursor.

Change Your Google Docs Document’s Page Background Color

One reason you can’t see your cursor on Google Docs is that both the Google Docs page background color and the cursor color are the same. In this case, if you don’t wish to change your cursor’s color, you can switch to a different page color on Google Docs to ensure your cursor remains visible.

  1. Launch your Google Docs document.
  2. Select File > Page setup from the menu bar.
  3. Choose Page color and select your preferred color.
  1. Select OK to apply your changes.

If you’ve changed your page’s color to black and your document’s text has become invisible, change your font color to see your text again.

Bring Back Your Disappeared Cursor on Google Docs

There are various reasons for your cursor errors when you’re working with Google Docs. You can try basic fixes like restarting your web browser to potentially fix your problem. If that doesn’t work, you have a few other ways to resolve your issue.

You can disable all the app alerts or select the ones you’re not interested in. You can deactivate the Story and message notifications as well. We’ll show you how to do that all in Snapchat on your iOS or Android device.

Note that all the methods below are reversible, meaning you can turn any notification off and back on whenever you want. We’ve explained how to turn an alert back on in case you’re interested in receiving specific notifications on your phone.

How to Turn Off All Snapchat Notifications on Android

If you’re an Android user wishing to disable your Snapchat notifications, you can use your phone’s Settings app to turn off all the alerts. Android’s Settings app lets you deactivate notifications for any installed app on your phone, including Snapchat.

Note that the steps to disable your app alerts will vary slightly depending on your Android phone model.

  1. Launch Settings on your Android phone.
  2. Select Apps > App management in Settings.
  3. Choose Snapchat on the app list.
  4. Select Manage notifications.
  5. Turn off the Allow notifications option.

You can re-activate your app alerts in the future by turning on the Allow notifications option.

How to Disable All Snapchat Alerts on Apple iPhone

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Select Notifications.
  3. Find and tap Snapchat on the list.
  4. Toggle off the Allow Notifications option.

You can re-enable your app alerts in the future by toggling on the Allow Notifications option.

If you aren’t interested in receiving an alert when someone specific posts a Story on their Snapchat account, you have the option to disable such alerts. You can turn off Story notifications per-user in Snapchat on your iPhone or Android device.

  1. Launch Snapchat on your phone.
  2. Select your profile picture or Bitmoji in the top-left corner and choose My Friends.
  3. Select the friend whose Story alerts you don’t want to get.
  4. Choose the three dots in the top-right corner and select Story Settings.

  2. Select the Chat option in the bottom bar.
  3. Tap and hold on the user who you want to disable the message notifications for.
  4. Select Chat Settings in the open menu.

  1. Launch Snapchat on your phone.
  2. Select your profile icon or Bitmoji in the top-left corner and choose Settings (a gear icon) in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Notifications on the following page.
  4. Review and turn on or off any notifications you want.

What to Do if Your Snapchat Notifications Aren’t Working?

If your Snapchat notifications aren’t working even after you’ve enabled them, your Snapchat app may be outdated, or your app’s cache files may be corrupted. Either way, you can resolve your issue and get your alerts working again in the app.

Update Your Snapchat App

One way to fix many issues with your app is to update your app. Doing so brings various bug fixes that patch the issues with your app. This can resolve your notification problem in Snapchat.

You can update Snapchat on an Android phone by visiting Google Play Store, finding Snapchat, and tapping Update next to the app.

You can update Snapchat on an iPhone by opening App Store, selecting the Updates tab, and choosing Update next to Snapchat.

Launch the updated app on your phone, and your issue should be fixed.

Clear Your Snapchat App Cache

If your Snapchat app’s cache files are corrupted, that may be why you aren’t receiving any alerts. In this case, clear your app’s bad cache, and your issue will be resolved.

Note that you don’t lose your account data when you clear your app’s cache. Also, you can only perform this procedure on an Android phone; the iPhone doesn’t allow you to delete an app’s cache files.

  1. Find the Snapchat app in your phone’s app drawer or home screen.
  2. Tap and hold on the app and select App info.
  3. Choose Storage usage on the following screen.
  4. Select Clear cache to remove the app’s cache files.
  1. Launch your app.

Disabling and Re-Enabling Your Snapchat App Alerts Is Easier Than You Think

Whether you’re sick of constant notifications or only looking to receive specific alerts from the app, it’s easy to manage various alert settings in the Snapchat app on your mobile phone. The app allows you to enable as well as disable any notification you want, as described above.

We hope the guide above helps you set the desired notification settings in Snapchat on your phone so you only get the alerts you’re interested in.

Do you have trouble signing out of Facebook on your phone? It might be a technical issue, Facebook’s servers could be down, or for several other reasons. Here are a few ways to get around this problem in the Facebook app on your Apple iPhone (iOS) or Android phone.

Some other reasons you can’t log out of your account are that your Facebook app’s cache is corrupted, the app itself is damaged, your phone’s operating system has a minor glitch, and more.

Check if Your Internet Connection Is Faulty

One reason you can’t log out of your Facebook account is that your phone’s internet connection isn’t working. Facebook needs access to the internet to sign you out of your account, and an inactive connection prevents that from happening.

You can check if your connection is faulty by opening a web browser and launching a site. If your site fails to launch, your internet connection has issues. In this case, try to resolve your internet problems by rebooting your router or contacting your internet service provider (ISP).

Check if Facebook Is Down

If your internet connection is working, the next item to check is if Facebook’s servers are down. The company’s servers may be experiencing an outage, making all the services unusable.

You can check if Facebook is down by visiting the Facebook page on the Downdetector site. This site will tell you if Facebook is experiencing any issues. If the platform is indeed down, wait until the company fixes the issue.

Clear Your Facebook App Cache

Another reason Facebook fails to log you out of your account is that your app’s cache files are corrupted. Such corrupted files can cause random issues in your app. Luckily, fixing the problem in this case is easy, as all you have to do is clear your app’s cache.

You don’t lose your account data when you do that, and the app will rebuild this cache. Note that you can only clear an app’s cache on Android; the iPhone doesn’t allow you to do that.

  1. Locate the Facebook app in your app drawer or on your home screen.
  2. Tap and hold on the app and select App info.
  3. Choose Storage usage on the following screen.
  4. Select Clear cache to delete the app’s cache files.
  1. Launch the Facebook app and try to sign out of your account.

Roll Back Your Facebook App Update

If you started facing a sign-out problem after updating the Facebook app, your app update might be faulty. Such updates cause various issues in your app.

In this case, you can roll back your app update to possibly resolve your issue. Note that you can only downgrade apps on Android; you can’t uninstall app updates on an iPhone.

  1. Tap and hold on Facebook in your app drawer or on your home screen and select App info.
  2. Select the three dots in the top-right corner and choose Uninstall updates.
  3. Select OK in the prompt to begin removing the app update.
  4. Launch your downgraded app and see if you can log out of your account.

Update Facebook on Your iPhone or Android Phone

If your Facebook app is outdated, that may be why you can’t sign out of your account in the app. Obsolete app versions are known to cause issues, and this may be the case with your app.

Are links in Instagram not working? Your link may be incorrect, or your Instagram app may be suffering from a technical glitch. Either way, you can fix the problematic item to resolve your problem and make your bio links work in your Instagram account. We’ll show you how to do that on your iPhone or Android device.

Some reasons your Instagram link doesn’t work are that your link is invalid or spammy, your app has a bug, your app’s cached files are corrupted, your app is outdated, and more.

Check and Ensure Your Link Is Valid

When your Instagram link doesn’t work, check and make sure your link is valid. You may have mistyped the link that takes users nowhere, causing your link problem.

In this case, you can ensure your link is correct by copying the link from its source and pasting it on Instagram. This avoids typos and other issues with your link and ensures Instagram accepts your link.

Check if Your Link Is Spammy

Not all valid links are supported by Instagram. This means you can’t use a valid, spammy link in your Instagram bio. Your current link may have too many redirects or leads to a spammy website, causing Instagram to reject the link.

Look up a website on Norton safe web

In this case, make sure your link doesn’t have many redirects and points to a legitimate site. You can use a web-based link checker like ScanURL or Norton Safe Web to check whether a link is safe to use or not.

Force Close and Re-Open Instagram on Your Phone

One reason your link isn’t working is that your Instagram app is experiencing issues. Such app problems are common, and these issues occur in most apps you use on your phone. One way to deal with these minor problems is by force-closing and re-opening your app.

Doing that turns off and back on all app features, possibly fixing your issue. Note that you can only force close apps on Android. You’ll have to use the standard close-and-open method on your iPhone.

On Android

  1. Find Instagram on your home screen or in your app drawer, tap and hold on the app, and select App info.
  2. Choose Force stop on the following page.
Force stop the instagram app on android
  1. Select Force stop in the prompt.
  2. Relaunch your app.

On iPhone

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of your phone’s screen and pause in the middle.
  2. Find and swipe up on Instagram to close the app.
  3. Relaunch the app from your home screen.

Clear Instagram Cache on Your Android Phone

Like many other apps, Instagram creates and uses cache files to quickly serve your content. Sometimes, these cached files become broken, being unable to serve various app features. You may experience issues with your app when this happens.

In this case, luckily, you can resolve the issue with ease by deleting your app’s cache files. You don’t lose your account files when you do this, and your app will rebuild the cache files as you use the app.

Note that you can only clear an app’s cache files on Android. You’ll have to delete the app on an iPhone to remove the app’s cached data.

  1. Tap and hold on Instagram in your app drawer or on your home screen and select App info.
  2. Choose Storage usage on the following screen.
  3. Select Clear cache to delete your app’s cached files.

  1. Launch your Instagram app.

Clear Instagram’s In-App Web Browser Data

If you’ve noticed, Instagram uses an in-app web browser to load the links you tap inside the app. The app does that so you don’t have to leave your app to access a link. Sometimes, this in-app web browser’s data becomes corrupted, causing your in-app links not to work.

One way to possibly fix this browser’s issues is by clearing the browser’s saved data. You can do this within Instagram, and we’ll show you how.

  1. Launch Instagram on your phone.
  2. Select a link in the app so your in-app browser opens.
  3. Choose the three dots in the browser’s top-right corner and select Browser settings.
  4. Select Clear next to Browsing data to delete your browser’s saved data.

  1. Close and relaunch Instagram, then see if your link works.

Update Your Instagram for iOS or Android App

It goes without saying that you should keep all your apps updated all the time on your phone. If you haven’t updated your Instagram app in a long time, that may be why your links aren’t working. Old app versions often have many bugs, which you can resolve by updating the app version.

You can possibly fix your link issue as well as add new features to your Instagram app by updating your app to the latest version.

On Android

  1. Launch Play Store on your phone.
  2. Find the Instagram app in the store.
  3. Select Update next to the app to update the application.

On iPhone

  1. Access App Store on your iPhone.
  2. Select Updates in the bottom bar.
  3. Choose Update next to Instagram to update the app.

Fix Instagram Links Not Working by Deleting and Reinstalling the App

If your link issue persists even after updating your app, your Instagram app itself may be faulty. This isn’t too uncommon, as mobile apps do get broken for various reasons. Your app’s core files might be corrupted, or your app might have come from an untrusted source.

Either way, you can resolve the issue by removing and reinstalling the app on your phone. Doing so deletes all the app files and brings official and working app files on your phone.

You don’t lose your account data when you reinstall the app, but you’ll have to sign back into your account.

On Android

  1. Launch your phone’s app drawer, tap and hold on Instagram, and select Uninstall.
Uninstall Instagram app on Android
  1. Choose Uninstall in the prompt.
  2. Open Play Store, find Instagram, and tap Install.

On iPhone

  1. Tap and hold on Instagram on your iPhone’s home screen.
  2. Select Remove App > Delete App in the menu.
  3. Open App Store, find Instagram, and tap the download icon.

Report Your Instagram Links Issue

If your reinstalled Instagram app has the same link problem, something may be off on Instagram’s end. In this case, you can report your issue to the company so the company can review and fix the problem.

You can use an option within your Instagram app to submit the report.

  1. Launch Instagram on your phone.
  2. Select your profile icon in the bottom bar.
  3. Choose the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner and select Settings and privacy.
  4. Scroll down the page and choose Help.
  5. Select Report a Problem and choose Report problem without shaking.

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish submitting your report.

Troubleshoot Instagram Bio Links Not Working

There are various reasons your Instagram bio links stop working. You may have added an invalid link, or Instagram’s own problems may be causing your issue. Either way, you can follow the methods outlined above to resolve your issue and get your links working in your profile.

]]>
Has Roblox interrupted your gaming session with an error code 268 on your computer? Many items can cause your app to display this error, including a suspended Roblox account or using a cheat tool on your machine. We’ll show you how to fix the items causing this problem so you can play your games uninterruptedly. Let’s find out.

Some reasons your Roblox client doesn’t work well include an inactive internet connection, a corrupt DNS cache, Roblox not having the required permissions to function, and other Roblox app glitches.

Check if Your Internet Connection Is Working

When Roblox stops working and displays a 268 error code, ensure your internet connection is working. Your connection may have stopped working, breaking Roblox’s connection to the platform’s servers.

You can check your connection by opening a web browser and launching a site. Your site won’t load if your connection has issues. In this case, disconnect and reconnect your PC to your Wi-Fi network, restart your router, resolve your network adapter problems, or contact your internet service provider (ISP) for help.

Check if Roblox Servers Are Down

Your internet connection alone being active isn’t enough for Roblox to work. The platform’s servers must not be experiencing issues, or you’ll have trouble using the app on your computer. This is because your app connects to its servers to fetch various information, which fails when the platform’s servers are down.

Roblox server status web page

You can check Roblox’s server status using the Roblox Status or the Downdetector site. If these sites say the platform is down, wait until the company brings the service back up. Note that you can only access your Roblox content when the servers are back up and running.

Clear Your Computer’s DNS Cache

Your computer caches your DNS queries to help your apps translate domain names to IP addresses quickly. This process fails if your DNS cache is corrupted, which may be the case with your computer.

Clear your computer’s DNS cache and resolve the issue.

  1. Open the Start menu on your PC, find Command Prompt, and launch the tool.
  2. Enter the following command on the CMD window and press Enter:
    ipconfig /flushdns

  1. Close Command Prompt and launch Roblox.

Check if Roblox Has Banned Your Account

If you still can’t use Roblox and continue to get an error 268, Roblox may have suspended your account. This usually happens when you go against the company’s terms of use.

You can check that by accessing the Roblox website and logging in to your account. You’ll see a suspended message after logging in if your account is suspended. In this case, you can contact Roblox’s support team to seek a solution.

Stop Using Roblox Cheat Software on Your Computer

If you’re using a cheat tool for Roblox on your computer, you may get an error 268 in the app. Using such tools is against Roblox’s terms of use, and these tools may have caused Roblox to display the above error.

You can fix that by turning off and removing all such tools on your computer. Make sure to give your computer a reboot when you’ve deleted your cheating tools.

Run Roblox With Admin Privileges

Roblox can fail to work when the app doesn’t have the required permissions to function.

You can fix that by running Roblox as an admin on your Windows PC.

  1. Find Roblox in your Start menu or on your desktop.
  2. Right-click the app and select Run as administrator.
Running roblox as administrator
  1. Choose Yes in the User Account Control prompt.

If your app works as expected in admin mode, make Windows always launch your app with admin rights using these steps:

  1. Right-click your Roblox desktop shortcut and select Properties.
  2. Access the Shortcut tab and choose Advanced.
  3. Turn on the Run as administrator option and select OK.
Setting roblox to always run as administrator
  1. Choose Apply followed by OK on the Properties window.

Fix Roblox Error Code 268 by Clearing the App’s Cache Files

Like many other apps, Roblox caches various files to speed up your experience in the app. When you encounter an issue in the app, your cached files may be corrupted. Such corruption often causes many problems in the app, and yours may be one of those issues.

Luckily, you can fix that by removing your Roblox cache files. This doesn’t affect your installed games in the app.

  1. Open the Run dialog box on your PC by pressing Windows + R.
  2. Type the following path in the box and press Enter. This Roblox folder contains all the app’s cache files.
    %temp%\Roblox
  3. Select all files in the folder by pressing Ctrl + A.
  4. Delete all selected files by right-clicking a file and choosing Delete (a trash can icon).
Deleting the roblox cache files in Windows Explorer
  1. Launch your Roblox app.

Temporary Disable Your Antivirus Software

If you still get an error 268 in your Roblox app, your computer’s antivirus program can block the app.

If you’ve downloaded Roblox from the company’s official site, you can temporarily turn off your antivirus protection and see if that resolves your issue:

  1. Open the Windows Security app on your PC.
  2. Select Virus & threat protection in the app.
  3. Choose Manage settings in the Virus & threat protection settings section.
  4. Turn off the Real-time protection toggle.
Turning off Real-Time protection in Windows
  1. Select Yes in the User Account Control prompt.
  2. Launch your Roblox app.

Remove and Reinstall Roblox on Your Computer

If nothing else works, your last resort is to uninstall and reinstall the Roblox app on your computer to resolve any core-level issues.

Note that you’ll lose your local games when you remove Roblox from your computer.

On Windows 11

  1. Right-click the Start menu icon and select Settings.
  2. Navigate to Apps > Installed apps in Settings.
  3. Find Roblox on the app list, select the three dots next to the app, choose Uninstall, and select Uninstall in the prompt.

On Windows 10

  1. Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.
  2. Select Apps in Settings.
  3. Locate Roblox, select the app, choose Uninstall, and select Uninstall in the prompt.

Reboot your PC after removing Roblox, head to the official website, download the app, and install the app on your computer.

Troubleshooting a Roblox Error Code 268 on Your Computer

If Roblox suddenly closes your gaming session with an error code 268, something’s off either with the app or your computer. Fortunately, you can use the methods described above to find and fix your app and your computer’s faulty items, resolving your error 268.

Your Roblox app will then work as expected, allowing you to play all your favorite games in the app.

Seeing a message notification on Discord, but there’s no unread message to read? Your Discord app may be experiencing an issue, causing unwanted message alerts. You can tweak a few options here and there in Discord and on your desktop or mobile device to resolve your issue. We’ll show you how to do that so you no longer have an unwanted notification on Discord.

Some reasons Discord behaves in the above weird way are that you haven’t fully opened your incoming messages, your app has a minor glitch, your app’s cached files are corrupted, you’re using an outdated app version and more.

Check and Read All Your Discord Messages

Before applying any fixes, ensure you’ve read all the unread messages in your Discord account. It’s possible you have one or more unread messages lying down somewhere in your message list, causing your app to display an unread message badge.

You can fix that by opening all the unread messages in your Discord app.

On Desktop

  1. Launch Discord on your computer.
  2. Select an unread conversation on the left.
  3. Repeat this process for all unread messages.

On Mobile

  1. Open Discord on your phone.
  2. Select the message icon in the app’s bottom-left corner.
  3. Tap and open all your unread messages.

Check Discord’s Nitro Subscription Promotion

If you’ve opened all your unread Discord messages, but you’re still seeing the notification alert, you may have yet to access Discord’s Nitro promotion message. Discord has sent this message to all its users, and you’ll continue to see a notification badge until you open and read this message.

You can do that by opening Discord on your desktop or mobile phone and choosing Nitro. Once you’ve accessed this message, your message alert should be gone.

Fully Close and Relaunch Discord on Your Device

If your message notification without an actual message remains, your Discord desktop or mobile app may be experiencing an issue. Such app glitches can cause many random issues, including displaying message alerts when you have no messages to read.

You can resolve those minor app problems by quitting and relaunching your Discord app.

On Windows 11 and 10

  1. Select X in Discord’s top-right corner to close the app.
  2. Right-click Discord in your system tray and choose Quit Discord.
  1. Relaunch Discord using your preferred method.

On macOS

  1. Press Option + Command + Esc on your Mac.
  2. Select Discord on the list, choose Force Quit, and select Force Quit.
  3. Relaunch Discord using your preferred way.

On Android

  1. Tap and hold on Discord in your app drawer or on your home screen and choose App info.
  2. Select Force stop on the following page.
  1. Choose Force stop in the prompt.
  2. Relaunch the app by tapping Discord in your app drawer.

On iPhone

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of your phone’s screen and pause in the middle.
  2. Find and swipe up on Discord to close the app.
  1. Tap Discord on your home screen to relaunch the app.

Check Your Discord Notification Settings

When you have issues with Discord notifications, it’s worth reviewing your app’s alert settings to ensure you haven’t specified anything incorrectly. You can toggle off and back on your app alerts to potentially resolve your issue.

On Desktop

  1. Launch Discord on your computer.
  2. Select User Settings (a gear icon) in the app’s bottom-left corner.
  3. Choose Notifications in the left sidebar.
  4. Turn off and back on both Enable Desktop Notifications and Enable Unread Message Badge options.
  1. Review and adjust other settings if you’d like.

On Mobile

  1. Open Discord on your phone.
  2. Select the icon in the app’s bottom-right corner.
  3. Scroll down the open page and select Notifications.
  4. Toggle off and back on both Get notifications within Discord and Notify on every new message in conversations options.
  1. Close and re-open your Discord app.

Clear Discord’s Cache Files

Discord caches various content to enhance your app experience. When you face issues with app’s message notifications, it’s worth clearing your app’s cached content to resolve your error. This is because your cached files might be corrupted, causing the app to display a notification badge even when there are no messages to read.

Note that you don’t lose your chats, servers, or other data when you clear your Discord app cache. Also, you can’t clear an app’s cache files on an iPhone; you must delete the app to remove the app’s cached content.

On Windows 11 and 10

  1. Open Run by pressing Windows + R on your PC.
  2. Enter the following in the Run box and press Enter:
    %appdata%\discord
  3. Highlight the following three folders in the open directory, right-click a selected folder, and choose Delete (a trash can icon).
    Cache
    Code Cache
    GPUCache
  1. Launch your Discord app.

On macOS

  1. Open a Finder window and select Go > Go to Folder in the menu bar.
  2. Enter the following path in the open box and press Enter:
    ~/Library/Application Support/discord
  3. Select the following three folders in the open folder, right-click a selected folder, and choose Move to Trash.
    Cache
    Code Cache
    GPUCache
  4. Launch your Discord app.

On Android

  1. Tap and hold on Discord in your app drawer or on your home screen and select App info.
  2. Tap Storage usage on the following screen.
  3. Choose Clear cache to delete the app’s cached files.
  1. Launch your Discord app.

Update Your Discord App

If you haven’t updated Discord in a long time, your outdated app version might be why you have the message notification issue. You can fix that by updating your app to the latest version.

On Desktop

  1. While Discord is running, press Ctrl + R (Windows) or Command + R (macOS) to get the app to check for updates.
  2. Close and relaunch Discord, and the app will begin installing the available updates.

On Android

  1. Open Play Store on your phone.
  2. Find Discord.
  3. Select Update to update the app.

On iPhone

  1. Launch App Store on your iPhone.
  2. Select Updates in the bottom bar.
  3. Choose Update next to Discord on the list.

Remove and Reinstall Discord on Your Device

If you continue to see an unwanted message notification despite not having any unread messages in Discord, your app itself might be faulty. Such core-level corruption can cause many problems with your app.

In this case, you can uninstall and reinstall the app on your device to fix your issue. Doing so doesn’t delete your chats, servers, or other data. You can sync these items by logging back into your account in the app.

On Windows 11

  1. Launch Settings by pressing Windows + I.
  2. Select Apps > Installed apps in Settings.
  3. Select the three dots next to Discord, choose Uninstall, and select Uninstall.

On Windows 10

  1. Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.
  2. Select Apps in Settings.
  3. Choose Discord on the list, select Uninstall, and choose Uninstall.

On macOS

  1. Launch a Finder window and open the Applications folder.
  2. Right-click Discord and choose Move to Trash.

After removing Discord from your Windows or Mac computer, access the Discord website, download the app, and install the app on your machine.

On Android

  1. Tap and hold on Discord in your app drawer and choose Uninstall.
  1. Select Uninstall in the prompt.
  2. Open the Play Store, find Discord, and select Install.

On iPhone

  1. Tap and hold on Discord on your home screen.
  2. Select Remove App > Delete App in the menu.
  3. Open the App Store, find Discord, and select the download icon.

Get Rid of Discord’s Faulty Message Notification Alert on Your Desktop and Mobile

The faulty notification alert makes you think you have an unread message, even though there’s nothing unread in your account. You can fix this Discord error using the methods described in the above guide. Once you’ve done that, your app will stop displaying the random notification badge, resolving your issue.

The “Your clock is ahead” error in Google Chrome prevents you from accessing your sites, as your browser can’t validate your sites’ SSL certificates. This mainly happens when your computer’s date and time settings are incorrect, as the browser can’t match the time and date of your site’s security certificates with your machine’s time. We’ll show you a few ways to resolve this issue and get Chrome to load your sites.

Some other reasons Chrome has issues loading your sites are that your VPN or proxy server isn’t working correctly, Chrome’s cached data is corrupted, Chrome’s configuration is faulty, and more.

Set the Correct Date and Time on Your Computer

When you encounter a “Your clock is ahead” Chrome error, check and ensure your computer is using the correct date and time settings. You or someone else may have modified these settings, making your machine use the incorrect date and time.

In this case, set your PC’s time and date on the automatic mode so you always have the correct settings on your computer.

On Windows 11

  1. Right-click the current time in your screen’s bottom-right corner and choose Adjust date and time.
  2. Turn on the Set time automatically option.
  1. Enable the Set time zone automatically option.
  2. Quit Settings, relaunch Chrome, and access your site.

On Windows 10

  1. Right-click the clock in your screen’s bottom-right corner and choose Adjust date/time.
  2. Activate the Set time automatically option.
  1. Enable the Set time zone automatically option.
  2. Close Settings, re-open Chrome, and load your site.

Turn Off the VPN or Proxy Server on Your Computer

If you’re using a VPN or proxy server on your computer, turn these items off and see if that resolves your issue. Sometimes, your web browsers can’t load sites because your VPN or proxy server isn’t working correctly.

You can turn off your VPN by launching your app and toggling off the main option.

If you’re using a proxy server on your PC, use the following steps to turn that server off:

On Windows 11

  1. Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.
  2. Select Network & internet in the left sidebar.
  3. Choose Proxy on the right pane.
  4. Turn off Automatically detect settings.
  1. Select Set up next to Use a proxy server and disable Use a proxy server.
  2. Close Settings, launch Chrome, and open your site.

On Windows 10

  1. Access Settings by pressing Windows + I.
  2. Choose Network & Internet in Settings.
  3. Select Proxy in the left sidebar.
  4. Turn off Automatically detect settings on the right.
  1. Disable the Use a proxy server option.
  2. Quit Settings, open Chrome, and launch your site.

Clear Chrome’s Saved Browsing Data

Chrome caches various files in the browser to improve your surfing sessions. Sometimes, this cached data becomes corrupted, causing your browser to be unable to load your sites. This may be the case with you.

In this case, clear Chrome’s saved browsing data to potentially fix your issue.

  1. Open Chrome, select the three dots in the top-right corner, and choose Settings.
  2. Select Privacy and security in the left sidebar.
  1. Choose Clear browsing data on the right pane.
  2. Select All time from the Time range drop-down menu, enable the Cached images and files option, untick all other options, and choose Clear data.
  1. Launch a new tab in your browser and try to access your site.
  2. If your site fails to load, clear all the data saved in Chrome to fix your issue.

Reset Your Chrome Browser Settings

If your “Your clock is ahead” error persists, Chrome’s browser settings might be faulty. You or someone else may have specified Chrome settings incorrectly, making the browser unable to load your sites.

In this case, reset Chrome to the factory settings to potentially fix your issue. Doing so deletes all your custom settings and lets you set up your browser from scratch. Note that you don’t lose your bookmarks, browsing history, and saved passwords when you reset Chrome.

  1. Run Chrome, select the three dots in the top-right corner, and choose Settings.
  2. Select Reset settings in the left sidebar.
  3. Choose Restore settings to their original defaults on the right pane.
  1. Select Reset settings in the prompt.
  2. Relaunch Chrome when you’ve reset the settings, then load your site.

Replace Your Computer’s CMOS Battery

If your computer doesn’t retain the correct date and time when you give your machine a reboot, your computer’s CMOS battery might be faulty or dead. This battery allows your machine to retain the correct date and time settings, even when you’ve turned off your PC.

In this case, you may have to replace your current CMOS battery with a new one. You’ll have to open your PC’s physical compartment, take the existing CMOS battery out, and place the new one in.

If you aren’t experienced in performing such tasks, we highly recommend you seek the help of a technician to perform the procedure. This is to ensure you don’t end up damaging other parts of your machine.

Make Chrome Ignore the SSL Certificate Warnings

If your issue remains unresolved, but you must access your site, you can get Chrome to ignore the SSL certificate warnings and load your site anyway. This resolves your issue for the time being and lets you access your site’s contents.

You’ll add a parameter to your Chrome desktop shortcut to make the browser ignore certain warnings. Note that this is a temporary workaround, and you should look into resolving your issue.

  1. Right-click Chrome’s shortcut on your desktop and choose Properties.
  2. Select the Shortcut tab in Properties.
  3. Put your cursor at the end of the existing text in the Target field, press Spacebar, and add the following parameter: –ignore-certificate-errors
  1. Select Apply followed by OK at the bottom to save your changes.
  2. Launch Chrome using your desktop shortcut and open your site.

Many Ways to Resolve a Clock Error in Your Google Chrome Browser

Chrome’s “Your clock is ahead” error can drive people crazy as the issue doesn’t let you access any sites in your browser. If this error message doesn’t go away despite multiple attempts to access your site, the above-mentioned methods will help you resolve your problem.

When you’ve fixed the issue, Chrome will load your sites just as it should, letting you access all your favorite content. Happy browsing!

Trying to make a phone call only to be greeted with a “Cellular network not available for voice calls” error message? This error occurs for many reasons, preventing you from placing your calls. Your Apple iPhone or Android phone may be experiencing an issue, or your cellular provider may have problems causing your error. You can try a few ways to fix the issue, and we’ll show you what those are.

Some reasons you have trouble placing calls on your phone are that your SIM card is improperly installed or damaged, the phone’s data roaming option is disabled, your phone can’t find the correct cellular network to connect, your device’s operating system has a minor glitch, and more.

Check if Your Phone Has Network Coverage

When you can’t make phone calls from your phone, the first thing to check is if your phone has network coverage. You can’t make or receive calls when your phone is outside the coverage area.

If your phone’s coverage bar doesn’t show any bars, which indicates your phone isn’t connected to your carrier, move around in your area and see if you get the network.

If your error continues even after receiving network signals, follow further fixes below.

Enable and Disable Your Phone’s Airplane Mode

When your phone experiences connectivity issues, you can toggle your phone’s flight mode on and off to resolve your problem, hopefully. This is because turning on flight mode disconnects your phone from all networks, and turning the mode back off re-connects your phone to your networks, fixing your issue.

On Android

  1. Pull down twice from the top of your phone’s screen.
  2. Tap the airplane icon in the open menu to turn on flight mode.
  1. Turn off the mode by tapping the same flight icon.

On iPhone

  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner of your phone.
  2. Tap the flight icon in the menu to turn on airplane mode.
  1. Turn off the mode by tapping the same flight icon.

Remove and Reinsert the SIM Card Into Your Phone

If your SIM card is improperly installed or damaged, that may be why you can’t make phone calls from your device. A damaged or incorrectly placed SIM card prevents your phone from connecting to your carrier, preventing incoming and outgoing calls.

You can check your SIM card’s condition by removing the SIM tray from your phone and the card from the tray. If your card’s condition looks good, place the card properly on the tray, push the tray back into your phone, and try to make a phone call.

Also, you can get a replacement SIM card from your carrier if your current card is damaged.

Restart Your iPhone or Android Phone

Sometimes, your phone’s minor glitches cause your call features to stop working. This may be the case with your phone, preventing you from placing calls.

You can fix many minor system issues on your iPhone or Android phone by restarting it.

On Android

  1. Press and hold down the Power button until a menu appears.
  2. Select Restart in the menu to reboot your phone.
  1. Try to make your phone call.

On iPhone

  1. Turn off your iPhone by pressing Volume Up + Side or Volume Down + Side.
  2. Drag the slider to finish powering off your phone.
  1. Turn on your phone by pressing and holding down the Side button.
  2. Make your voice call.

Turn On Data Roaming on Your Phone

Some carriers require you to enable data roaming to place phone calls. If you’ve turned off this option on your phone, turn the option on to resolve your issue.

Note that your carrier may charge a fee for using data while roaming. Get in touch with your network provider to learn more about the costs.

On Android

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Select Mobile network in Settings.
  3. Choose your SIM card on the list if your phone supports multiple SIM cards.
  4. Turn on the Data roaming option.
  1. Place your phone call.

On iPhone

  1. Launch Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Select Mobile Data in Settings.
  3. Choose Mobile Data Options.
  4. Enable Data Roaming.
  1. Make your call.

Choose Your Network Operator Manually

By default, your phone automatically finds and connects to your cellular provider. However, it’s worth choosing the provider manually when you have trouble placing calls on your phone. It’s possible your phone is confused about what carrier to choose, which you can fix by selecting the carrier manually.

On Android

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Select Mobile network and tap your SIM card.
  3. Choose Carrier on the following screen.
  4. Turn off the Auto select option.
  1. Select your carrier manually on the list.

On iPhone

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Select Mobile Data in Settings.
  3. Choose Network Selection.
  4. Turn off the Automatic toggle.
  1. Manually select your carrier on the list.

Update iOS or Android on Your Phone

If your phone is using an old iOS or Android version, that can cause various issues on your device. An outdated operating system version may be why you can’t make phone calls from your phone.

In this case, update your phone’s operating system to resolve your call error.

On Android

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and choose About device.
  3. Select Software update.
  1. Download and install the available updates.

On iPhone

  1. Launch Settings on your phone.
  2. Select General > Software Update in Settings.
  1. Download and install the latest iOS updates.

Factory Reset Network Settings on Your iPhone or Android Phone

If your phone still can’t make calls and you continue getting a “Cellular network not available for voice calls” error, your network settings might be incorrect. You or someone else may have modified your phone’s network configuration incorrectly, causing the phone not to make calls.

In this case, you can reset your device’s network settings to fix your issue potentially.

On Android

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Navigate to System settings > Back up and reset > Reset phone in Settings.
  3. Choose Reset network settings.
  1. Authorize yourself using biometrics or a PIN and finish the reset process.

On iPhone

  1. Access Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Select General > Reset in Settings.
  3. Choose Reset Network Settings.
  1. Authenticate yourself and tap Reset Network Settings in the prompt.

Contact Your Network Provider

If your “Cellular network not available for voice calls” error persists, your last option is to contact your carrier. Something may be wrong on your carrier’s end, causing your call issue.

You can verify that and seek a solution to your problem by contacting your specific network provider. You can reach most providers online using their official websites.

Solve the Cellular Network Error Stopping Your Calls

You can’t make calls and get an error on your iOS or Android device for many reasons. Your carrier may have issues on its end, or your phone may be suffering from a bug. Either way, you can use the above mentioned methods to fix your error and start placing your calls.

Does YouTube default to 360p quality for your videos? At 360p, YouTube videos can appear blurry. Some reasons why YouTube chooses to play your videos in 360p are that your internet connection is slow, you have yet to set the default video quality, your web browser settings are incorrect, and more.

Check if Your Internet Connection Is Slow

The most common reason YouTube plays your videos in 360p is that your internet connection is slow. Your connection speed isn’t fast enough to play videos in higher quality, which forces the platform to choose a lower quality for your video playbacks.

In this case, check if your internet connection is fast enough using a site like Fast or Speedtest. These sites will check your connection’s speed and let you know the current speed.

If your connection is slow, contact your internet service provider (ISP) to upgrade to a higher-speed plan.

Manually Change Your YouTube Video’s Playback Quality

If YouTube doesn’t automatically enhance your video quality, manually choose the high-quality option for your video playbacks. You can do this on YouTube’s desktop site as well as YouTube’s app for iPhone, iPad, and Android.

Changing YouTube Playback Quality On Desktop

  1. Open your preferred web browser and access YouTube.com.
  2. Start playing your video on the site.
  3. Select Settings (a gear icon) in the video player’s bottom bar.
  4. Select Quality and choose your preferred quality.

Changing YouTube Playback Quality On Mobile

  1. Open the YouTube app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone.
  2. Play a video.
  3. Select Settings (a gear icon) in the video player’s top-right corner.
  4. Choose Quality in the menu.
  5. Select Advanced and choose your preferred video quality.

Set the Default Video Quality in YouTube for Android, iPhone, and iPad

Unlike YouTube’s desktop site, you can set the default video quality in the platform’s app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. This means you can fix your YouTube reverting to 360p quality issue by choosing your preferred video resolution in the app.

Note that YouTube will use your chosen video quality for all future video playbacks in the YouTube app on your phone.

  1. Launch the YouTube app on your phone.
  2. Select You in the app’s bottom bar.
  3. Tap Settings (a gear icon) in the top-right corner.
  4. Select Video quality preferences in the menu.
  5. Choose Higher picture quality in both Video Quality on Mobile Networks and Video Quality on Wi-Fi sections.

Note that YouTube will use relatively more internet data when you choose to play your videos in high quality. You might want to keep an eye on your data usage if you have a limited data plan.

Clear YouTube’s Cache on Your Android Phone

If YouTube continues to bring your videos to 360p quality, it’s possible the app’s cached files are corrupted. When such corruption happens, your app can cause various random problems.

Luckily, you can fix your app’s bad cache by wiping off the cache on your phone. This doesn’t delete your data in the app and allows you to fix many issues with your app.

Note that you can only clear an app’s cache on Android. The iPhone and iPad don’t allow you to remove an installed app’s cached data.

  1. Tap and hold on YouTube on your home screen or in your app drawer.
  2. Select App info in the menu.
  3. Choose Storage usage on the following screen.
  4. Select Clear cache to delete your app’s cached data.
  1. Launch your YouTube app and play your videos.

Uninstall and Reinstall YouTube on Your iPhone or iPad

If you’re using YouTube on an iPhone or iPad, and the app continues to play your videos in 360p quality, remove and reinstall the app to see if that fixes your issue. This is because your app’s core files might be corrupted, causing the problem.

  1. Find YouTube on your device’s home screen.
  2. Tap and hold on the app and select Remove App > Delete App.
  3. Reinstall the app by opening App Store, finding YouTube, and selecting the download icon.

Reset Your Desktop Web Browser’s Settings

One reason YouTube defaults to 360p video quality on desktop is that your web browser’s settings are configured incorrectly. You or someone else may have tweaked your browser settings incorrectly, causing the problem.

In this case, reset your browser settings, and your issue should be resolved.

You can reset Google Chrome by opening the browser, selecting the three dots in the top-right corner, choosing Settings, selecting Reset settings in the left sidebar, choosing Restore settings to their original defaults on the right, and selecting Reset settings.

To reset Mozilla Firefox, open the browser, select the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner, choose Help > More troubleshooting information, select Refresh Firefox, and choose Refresh Firefox in the prompt.

You can bring Microsoft Edge’s settings to the defaults by launching the browser, selecting the three dots in the top-right corner, choosing Settings, selecting Reset settings in the left sidebar, choosing Restore settings to their default values, and selecting Reset.

Close and relaunch your web browser when you’ve reset the settings, then launch YouTube.com and see what quality your videos play in.

Force YouTube to Use Your Specified Video Quality Using a Web Browser Extension

If your issue still isn’t resolved in your desktop web browser, you can utilize a browser extension to force YouTube to use your specified resolution for your videos. This prevents the site from switching to 360p for your video playbacks.

If you’re a Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge user, you can get the Auto HD/4k/8k for YouTube – YouTube Auto HD extension. Mozilla Firefox users can achieve the same in their web browser using the YouTube High Definition add-on.

Once you’ve installed an extension, configure that extension and choose your preferred video quality. Then, YouTube will play all your videos in your chosen resolution.

Prevent YouTube From Switching to 360p Quality for Your Videos

Gone are the days when 360p was considered a good resolution for videos. If YouTube keeps reverting to that quality, use the methods described above, and your issue will be resolved. YouTube will then play your videos in your chosen quality, allowing you to enjoy your watching sessions.

Does your phone refuse to play any sounds when you access an Instagram Story? If so, your phone or Instagram app may be experiencing an issue. Here are the methods you can use on your Apple iPhone or Android device to unmute the popular app.

1. Turn Off Your Phone’s Silent Mode

When you have trouble playing sounds on your smartphone, the first thing to check is if your phone is in silent mode. You or someone else may have enabled this mode, causing your phone not to play any sounds.

In this case, turn off the mode and bring your phone back to Ring mode to fix your issue.

On Android

  1. Slide the Ring/Silent toggle on your phone to disable Silent mode and enable Ring mode.
  2. Play your Instagram Story.

On iPhone

  1. Flip the Ring/Silent switch so you don’t see the orange color behind the switch. This indicates your phone is in Ring mode.
  2. Open and play your Instagram Story.

2. Turn Up Your Phone’s Volume to Fix a No Sound Issue

If you still don’t get audio in your Instagram Stories, increase your phone’s volume to see if that fixes your problem. Your phone’s current volume might be too low, making the Story sound inaudible.

You can use your phone’s physical Volume Up key to increase the volume. Keep pressing this key until your phone has reached at least 50% volume level. Then, play your Instagram Story and see if you can hear the audio.

3. Turn Off Bluetooth on Your Phone

One reason you can’t hear the audio in Instagram Stories is that you’ve connected a Bluetooth audio accessory to your phone, and your phone is routing all the audio to that device. You can disconnect your accessory from your phone to resolve your issue.

A quick way to verify and fix that is to turn off Bluetooth on your device.

On Android

  1. Pull down twice from the top of your phone’s screen.
  2. Select Bluetooth in the menu to turn off the feature.
  1. Play your Instagram Story.

On iPhone

  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner of your iPhone’s screen.
  2. Tap the Bluetooth icon to turn off the feature.
  1. Access your Instagram Story.

4. Clear Instagram’s Cache Files on Your Android Phone

If you still don’t hear the audio for Stories in your Instagram feed, your app’s cache files might be corrupted. Like many other apps, Instagram creates and utilizes cache files to improve your overall app experience. When these files become corrupted, you experience various issues in the app, including the one you’re currently facing.

You can fix that issue by clearing your app’s cache files. You don’t lose your account data when you do this, and Instagram will rebuild these files as you use the app.

Note that you can only perform this procedure on an Android phone. The iPhone doesn’t allow you to clear an app’s cache files.

  1. Open your phone’s app drawer, tap and hold on Instagram, and select App info.
  2. Choose Storage usage on the following screen.
  1. Select Clear cache to delete your app’s cached files.
  1. Open the Instagram app and play your Story.

5. Install Pending Instagram Updates on Your iPhone or Android Phone

Instagram’s outdated app version can cause many random issues, and this may be the reason you have trouble playing the audio for your Instagram Stories. You can fix version-related issues like this by updating your app on your phone.

Updating Instagram on your phone fixes many app bugs and possibly adds new features.

On Android

  1. Launch Play Store on your phone.
  2. Find Instagram in the store.
  3. Select Update next to the app to bring the app to the latest version.

On iPhone

  1. Open App Store on your iPhone.
  2. Select Updates in the bottom bar.
  3. Choose Update next to Instagram on the list.

6. Use a VPN to Unmute Instagram Stories

If you don’t hear the audio only in certain Stories on Instagram, those Stories’ soundtracks might be unavailable in your region. Instagram may not have the rights to play those soundtracks in your current region, causing your Stories to remain muted.

In this case, you can bypass that restriction by using a VPN on your phone. A VPN allows you to change your phone’s online location, letting you bypass many limits on various apps and sites.

There are many VPN apps you can choose from, and nearly all of them work on both iOS and Android devices. After installing such an app, launch the app, turn on the service, and play your Instagram Story.

7. Sign Out and Back Into Your Instagram Account

If your phone still fails to play the audio for your Instagram Story, your login session in the app might have a problem. You can resolve these login-related issues by signing out and back into your account in the app.

You don’t lose your account data when you do this, but you’ll have to enter your account’s username and password to log back in.

  1. Open Instagram on your phone.
  2. Select your profile icon in the bottom bar.
  3. Tap the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner.
  4. Choose Settings and privacy in the menu.
  5. Scroll to the bottom and choose Log out [Username].
  1. Log back into your account in the app.

8. Remove and Reinstall Instagram on Your Phone

If your Instagram Stories remain muted even after following the above methods, your app itself may be faulty. It isn’t too uncommon for apps to go corrupt and malfunction, and this may be the case with your Instagram app.

In this case, you can resolve the issue by removing and reinstalling the app on your phone. This deletes all app files from your phone and installs new files, fixing all file-related issues.

You don’t lose any data when you do this. However, you’ll have to log back into your account when you reinstall the app on your phone.

On Android

  1. Tap and hold on Instagram in your app drawer and select Uninstall.
  1. Choose Uninstall in the prompt.
  2. Re-download the app by opening Play Store, finding Instagram, and tapping Install.

On iPhone

  1. Tap and hold on Instagram on your phone’s home screen.
  2. Select Remove App > Delete App in the menu.
  3. Reinstall the app by launching App Store, finding Instagram, and selecting the download icon.

9. The Instagram Story Doesn’t Have Any Audio

If reinstalling the app didn’t fix your issue, it’s possible your Instagram Story itself is muted. The creator may not have added any music tracks to the Story, keeping the Story soundless.

In this case, you can’t do anything as the original Story is without audio.

Many Ways to Resolve an Instagram Story Sound Issue on Your Phone

If your phone doesn’t play any music when you access an Instagram Story, there’s a good chance something is wrong on your phone. You can tweak a few options here and there on your phone as well as in the Instagram app to possibly resolve your issue.

Once you’ve done that, you can find that all your Instagram Stories play the audio. Happy using this social media platform!

]]>
Have trouble getting past Steam’s captcha screen in your desktop web browser? You may be entering the captcha incorrectly, or there could be an issue with your browser or computer. Here’s how to resolve this issue.

Some other reasons you can’t get past the Steam captcha page are that your web browser cache is corrupted, your DNS cache is faulty, you’re using an incompatible VPN or proxy, and more. In this tutorial, we’ll take a look at all these reasons, starting with the most likely ones.

Enter Your Steam Captcha Correctly

When you face issues with the captcha on Steam, ensure you’re entering the captcha correctly. You may be making mistakes while entering the digits and alphabets from the shown image, leading to your issue.

Be very careful while entering the captcha, and double-check the entered value before submitting the form. If you have someone around you, it may be a good idea to seek their assistance in filling up the captcha field.

Close and Relaunch Your Web Browser

If Steam doesn’t accept your captcha despite entering the value correctly, your web browser may have a temporary issue. Such minor problems can cause your browser to malfunction, leading to a captcha issue in some cases.

In this case, you can give your browser a reboot to potentially fix your error. Closing and relaunching the browser turns off and back on all the browser features, fixing minor issues with those items.

Make sure you’ve saved your unsaved work before closing and reopening your browser.

  1. Select X in your web browser’s top-right corner to quit the browser.
  1. Relaunch the browser by double-clicking the browser shortcut on your desktop. Another way to do that is to open the Start menu, find your browser, and select your browser in the search results.
  2. Load the Steam site and see if you can get past the captcha screen.

Delete Your Web Browser Cache

Your web browser caches various web files to improve your browsing experience. Sometimes, these saved files become corrupted, causing random issues in the browser. Your browser may be suffering from a bad cache, causing your problem.

In this case, clear your web browser’s cached data to resolve your issue. Your web browser will rebuild this cache as you visit sites. Also, you don’t lose your bookmarks, passwords, browsing history, and other content when you clear the browsing cache.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome, type the following in the address bar, and press Enter:
    chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
  2. Choose All time from the Time range drop-down menu, select the Cached images and files option, deselect all other options, and choose Clear data.
  1. Close and reopen Chrome, then launch the Steam site.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Launch Firefox, select the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner, and choose History > Clear recent history.
  2. Choose Everything in the Time range to clear drop-down menu, enable the Cache option, disable all other options, and choose Clear Now.
  1. Quit and relaunch Firefox, then open the Steam site.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Access Edge, enter the following in the address bar, and press Enter:
    edge://settings/clearBrowserData
  2. Select All time from the Time range drop-down menu, activate the Cached images and files option, deactivate all other options, and choose Clear now.
  1. Close and reopen Edge, then access your Steam site.

Flush DNS Cache on Your Computer

Your computer caches DNS queries to help your web-enabled apps quickly translate domain names to IP addresses. It’s possible this cache has become corrupted, causing the Steam site not to work as expected.

In this case, clear your DNS cache, and your issue will be resolved. You don’t lose any personal data when you do this, and your computer will rebuild your DNS cache.

  1. Open your PC’s Start menu, find Command Prompt, and launch the tool.
  2. Type the following command on the CMD window and press Enter:
    ipconfig /flushdns
  1. Close Command Prompt when you’ve cleared the DNS cache.
  2. Launch your web browser and access the Steam site.

Turn Off Your VPN and Proxy to Fix Steam Captcha Not Working

If you’re using a VPN or proxy server on your computer, these items may be interfering with Steam’s captcha system. It’s a good idea to turn these features off when you experience issues loading or working with an online site.

Disabling your VPN service is as easy as launching your VPN app and turning off the main toggle.

You can turn off the proxy server on your Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC as follows:

Windows 11

  1. Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.
  2. Select Network & internet in the left sidebar.
  3. Choose Proxy on the right pane to access your proxy settings.
  4. Turn off the Automatically detect settings option.
  1. Select Set up next to Use a proxy server and turn off Use a proxy server.
  2. Relaunch your web browser and open the Steam site.

Windows 10

  1. Launch Settings by pressing Windows + I.
  2. Select Network & Internet in Settings.
  3. Choose Proxy in the left sidebar.
  4. Toggle off Automatically detect settings on the right.
  1. Turn off Use a proxy server.
  2. Reopen your browser and launch the Steam site.

Use Steam’s App on Your iPhone or Android Phone

Can’t send or receive messages on Instagram? Have your Instagram DMs stopped working? Many items can cause this problem. Your internet connection may be faulty, or your Instagram app for iPhone or Android may have issues. We’ll show you a few ways to resolve this issue so you can resume sending and receiving messages on this platform. Let’s dive in.

Some reasons you can’t send or receive messages on Instagram are that Instagram is down, your app’s cache is faulty, your phone’s operating system has a minor problem, your login session in the app isn’t working correctly, and more.

1. Check Your Apple iPhone or Android Phone’s Internet Connection

Instagram relies on your phone’s internet connection to send and receive messages. It’s possible your phone’s internet has stopped working, causing your DMs not to function.

In this case, check and ensure your internet connection is active. You can do this by launching an internet-enabled app on your phone and accessing some web content. If your content doesn’t load, your connection is faulty.

You can follow a few basic troubleshooting tips, like rejoining your Wi-Fi network and rebooting your router, to potentially fix your internet problems. If these methods don’t work, contact your internet service provider (ISP) for further help.

2. Check if Instagram Is Down

If your phone’s internet connection is active, check if Instagram’s servers are facing an outage. The platform’s servers may be experiencing issues, causing your DM issue.

You can check if Instagram is down by visiting the Downdetector site. This site collects downtime reports from users and lets you know if an online service is down.

If that site says Instagram is down, you can’t do anything but wait until the company restores the service. In the meantime, you can use other instant messaging apps to stay in touch with your friends and family.

3. Force Close and Reopen the Instagram App

One reason your DMs aren’t working is that your Instagram app has glitches. These minor app problems can prevent you from accessing various app features.

In this case, you can try to resolve those minor issues by force closing and reopening your Instagram app. Note that you can only force close an app on Android devices.

  1. Launch your phone’s app drawer, tap and hold on Instagram, and select App info.
  2. Choose Force stop on the open screen.
  1. Select Force stop in the prompt.
  2. Launch your Instagram app.

4. Clear Instagram Cache on Your Android Phone

If your Instagram DMs still aren’t working, your app’s saved cache might be corrupted. A corrupt app cache prevents the app from functioning normally, causing many issues. Luckily, fixing a bad cache is easy, as you can clear the faulty cache and relaunch your app.

Clearing your app’s cache doesn’t delete your account data in the app. Your app will rebuild this cache as you use the app features. Note that you can only clear an app’s cache on Android. You’ll have to uninstall and reinstall the app on an iPhone to remove the app’s cached data.

  1. Open your phone’s app drawer, tap and hold on Instagram, and select App info.
  2. Choose Storage usage on the following screen.
  3. Select Clear cache to remove the app’s cached files.
  1. Launch your Instagram app.

5. Update Instagram for iOS or Android

If you’re using an outdated version of Instagram on your phone, that may be why you can’t send and receive messages. Old app versions are often buggy, and one way to resolve those bugs is to update your app.

Updating Instagram resolves your app bugs and possibly brings new features.

On Android

  1. Open Play Store on your phone.
  2. Find Instagram.
  3. Select Update next to the app to update the app to the latest version.

On iPhone

  1. Launch App Store on your iOS device.
  2. Select Updates in the bottom bar.
  3. Choose Update next to Instagram on the list.

Launch your updated Instagram app, and your DM issue should be resolved.

6. Fix Instagram DMs Not Working by Restarting Your iPhone or Android Phone

If your Instagram DM problem still isn’t fixed, your iPhone or Android phone may be experiencing an issue. Your phone’s system issues can affect your installed apps, which may be the case with you.

You can try to fix your phone’s minor issues by rebooting your phone. Doing so turns off and back on all your phone features, possibly fixing many minor glitches.

Ensure you’ve saved your unsaved work before powering off your phone.

On Android

  1. Press and hold down the Power button on your phone.
  2. Select Restart in the menu.
  1. Open Instagram when your phone boots up.

On iPhone

  1. Press and hold down Volume Up + Side or Volume Down + Side on your phone.
  2. Drag the slider to the right to turn off your phone.
  1. Turn on your phone by pressing and holding down the Side button.
  2. Launch the Instagram app.

7. Sign Out and Back Into Your Instagram Account

If you continue to face issues sending or receiving messages with Instagram’s DM feature, your login session in the app may be problematic. Such issues can prevent your app from fetching new messages from Instagram’s servers.

One way to fix this issue is to log out and back into your account in the app. Doing so refreshes your login session, fixing the current login problems.

  1. Launch Instagram on your phone.
  2. Select your profile picture in the bottom bar.
  3. Tap the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner and choose Settings and privacy.
  4. Scroll down the page and choose Log out [Your Username].
  1. Close and relaunch Instagram, then log back into your account.

8. Fix Instagram Direct Messages Issues by Reinstalling the App

If your Instagram DMs haven’t started working even after following the above methods, your app itself may be faulty. Such app issues are common, and you can resolve these problems by removing and reinstalling your app.

Uninstalling the app removes all the app’s bad files, and redownloading the app brings working new app files. You don’t lose your account data when you do this; however, you’ll have to log back into your account.

On Android

  1. Tap and hold on Instagram in your app drawer and choose Uninstall.
  1. Select Uninstall in the prompt.
  2. Launch Google Play Store, find Instagram, and tap Install.

On iPhone

  1. Tap and hold on Instagram on your home screen and choose Remove App > Delete App.
  2. Open App Store, find Instagram, and tap the download icon.

Restore Instagram’s DM Functionality on Your iPhone or Android Phone

Instagram’s Direct Messages feature stops working for various reasons. Your app may be faulty, or there may be an issue with your phone. Either way, you can follow the above-mentioned methods to resolve your problem and resume your chat sessions.

We hope the guide helps you out.

Getting a verifying login error while using Steam on your computer? The error mainly appears when Steam’s servers are unreachable. There are other reasons this error occurs, like your internet connection being inactive. If your error isn’t resolved after multiple login attempts, we’ll show you a few ways to fix the problem and regain access to your favorite game client. Let’s get started.

If you’re curious why Steam displays the above error, some causes are that your Steam client has a problem, your download cache is corrupted, your PC’s firewall has blocked Steam’s access to the internet, and more.

Check Steam Server Status

When Steam fails to log you into your account, check if the platform’s servers are facing an outage. Steam’s servers may be down, causing your client to be unable to load your account. This is a rare situation, but it does happen.

You can verify if that’s the case by heading to the unofficial Steam Status or the Downdetector site. These sites will tell you if users have reported issues using Steam. If you find Steam is indeed experiencing problems, wait until the company fixes those issues and brings the service back up.

In the meantime, you can play your other games and even use other gaming clients like Roblox.

Switch Between Offline and Online Modes in Steam

When you have trouble using Steam, you can try to resolve your issue by toggling between offline and online modes in your app. Doing so forces the app to connect to the internet, possibly resolving your login error.

  1. Launch Steam on your computer.
  2. Select Steam > Go Offline in the menu bar.
  1. Choose Steam > Go Online in the menu bar.

Force Close and Relaunch Steam on Your Computer

If switching between offline and online mode didn’t fix your Steam problem, force close and re-open your app to possibly resolve your issue. This method should work if Steam is experiencing minor app glitches.

  1. Right-click the Windows taskbar and choose Task Manager.
  2. Find Steam on the list, right-click the app, and choose End task.
  1. Quit Task Manager.
  2. Open the Start menu, find Steam, and launch the app.

Close Other Programs Running on Your Computer

Sometimes, Steam doesn’t work as intended because your other apps are interfering with it. You may have an app that’s interfering with Steam’s functionality, preventing the app from signing you into your account.

In this case, close all other running apps on your computer and see if that makes Steam work. You can close an app in Windows by selecting X in the app’s top-right corner. Use Task Manager if an app refuses to close.

That should eliminate any interference and allow Steam to work without problems.

Clear Your Steam Download Cache

When you experience issues using Steam, one item you can clear to possibly resolve your issues is Steam’s download cache. The company recommends you clear this cache when you have problems using the app.

You don’t lose your account data when you do this, and Steam will rebuild the cache as you use the app.

  1. Open Steam on your computer.
  2. Select Steam > Settings in the menu bar.
  3. Choose Downloads in the left sidebar.
  4. Select Clear Cache next to Clear Download Cache.
  1. Choose Confirm in the prompt to continue.

Update Your Steam App

If you’re using an old version of Steam, your app may have bugs and other issues, causing your login problem. It’s common for old app versions to have issues, and you can fix those problems by updating your app.

Updating Steam resolves many app bugs and possibly adds new features.

  1. Run Steam on your machine.
  2. Select Steam > Check for Steam Client Updates.
  1. Allow Steam to find and install the latest app updates.
  2. Close and relaunch Steam, then log in to your account.

Restart Your Windows PC

If your Steam login error persists, give your computer a reboot to potentially resolve your problem. This is because your computer’s operating system may be experiencing an issue, which you can resolve by restarting the computer.

  1. Open your PC’s Start menu.
  2. Select the Power icon in the menu.
  3. Choose Restart.
  1. Launch your Steam app.

Turn Off Your Firewall to Fix Steam’s Login Problem

If Steam still can’t connect to its servers and fails to log you in, your computer’s firewall may have blocked Steam’s internet access. This happens when your firewall detects a suspicious connection, but that may be a false-positive report.

In this case, temporarily turn off your firewall and see if that resolves your issue.

  1. Open the Windows Security app on your PC.
  2. Select Firewall & network protection in the app.
  3. Choose the network that says (active).
  4. Disable the Microsoft Defender Firewall toggle.
  1. Select Yes in the User Account Control prompt.
  2. Launch Steam and see if you can log in.

Reinstall Steam on Your Computer

If nothing else works, your last resort is to delete and reinstall the Steam app on your computer. This fixes your app’s corrupted files, which may be causing your login error.

On Windows 11

  1. Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.
  2. Select Apps in the left sidebar.
  3. Choose Installed apps on the right pane.
  4. Find Steam, select the three dots next to the app, and choose Uninstall.
  1. Select Uninstall in the prompt.

On Windows 10

  1. Launch Settings using the Windows + I keyboard combination.
  2. Select Apps in Settings.
  3. Find Steam, select the app, and choose Uninstall.
  1. Select Uninstall in the prompt.

After removing the app, head to Steam’s website and download and install a fresh version of the app on your computer.

Troubleshooting Steam’s Verifying Login Information Error

Steam’s login error prevents you from signing in to your account and accessing your installed games. If your issue isn’t resolved after a few sign-in attempts, the methods outlined above will help you deal with the issue.

Once you’ve made a few changes here and there on your system, Steam will start working just as it should, letting you access all your gaming content.
